Extracurricular
activities are very important to the growth of a child, they help
them, emotionally, socially, and even academically. They help kids
learn to be patient, get along with others, and participate in team
work. Extracurricular activities could be your ticket into college. A
lot of people think that the only way you will succeed in life is if
you are the smartest person and go to college. But if you are doing a
lot of extracurricular activities then it opens up more doors for you
to become successful, like you can get a sports scholarship, or a
band, or choir scholarship, all kinds of things.
Also
extracurricular activities such as sports are a benefit to your
health. They will keep you in shape, and maybe it will boost some
kid's self-esteem. Also sports are like taking a break from all the
stress from whatever is going on in your life, like keeping up with
school. I think that every kid should participate in extracurricular
activities, but they should not be forced. If they were forced I
think that they wouldn't really try and it would just be a waste of
time. Then doing extra things could keep a kid from being bored, and
an idle mind is a devils workshop. Plus you won't really have time to
get in trouble because you will be practicing all the time and then
when you're not practicing you should be at school or doing something
constructive.
Also
extracurricular activities look good on resumes, and applications,
plus they can make a person tough if you are playing a rough sport
like football or rugby. Then it can help you have patience especially
if you are in band or choir, because you have to practice your shows
for at least a few months before you can put on a show. Also it's
been proven that people who play sports or are in band are smarter
than normal students, because you have to be eligible at all times
which means that your grade must be above a certain percent. Plus it
pushes students to do better because they know that if they do bad
they won't be able to play sports, and that might be a little push
that a student needs.
